Hello and welcome to the Pre-School page.

The pre-school is located in Poulner Infant School and by being part of the school we are able to use the school facilities, such as the hall, field, library and are able to take part in school events and special days.

We cater for up to 26 children per session and can take children from 2yrs 6mths to 5 years. We offer a morning session and an afternoon session with the option of staying for lunch club if required.

We provide a stimulating and caring environment where each child is supported as an individual to learn and develop at their own pace.

Our setting aims to

  • Provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age.
  • Work in partnership with parents and carers to help children to learn and develop.
  • Be a presence and power for good within the local community
  • Promote equality and diversity within the preschool environment and wider community.

We aim to ensure that each child:

  • Is given a safe, supportive and stimulating environment to learn in.
  • Is given lots of individual support and attention from their named keyworker.
  • Has the chance to develop social skills with their peers and supportive adults.
  • Is offered learning opportunities that link to their personal interests and learning styles.

Our pre-school is overseen by the schools headteacher Mrs Jo Conner.

The room is led by Early Years Teacher, Donna Harris. Donna has extensive experience in Early Years and Special Educational Needs and holds a Degree in Early Years Education as well as a range of other qualifications.

The staff team is made up of Level 2 and Level 3 practitioners with a long history of Early years practice, most of the team have remained with the Pre-school for a number of years in its previous location in Poulner when it was known as Teddy Bears Preschool. All staff contribute to and receive CPD alongside school staff and as a smaller team to keep up to date with new ideas, developments and training.
