Hello and welcome to the Pre-School page.

Our pre-school is located in Poulner Infant School and by being part of the school we are able to use the school facilities, such as the hall, field, library and are able to take part in school events and special days.

A purpose built pre school unit is currently under construction within the grounds of the school which we are aiming to move into in September 2024.

We cater for up to 26 children per session and can take children from 2yrs 6mths to 5 years. We offer a morning session and an afternoon session with the option of staying for lunch club if required.

We provide a stimulating and caring environment where each child is supported as an individual to learn and develop at their own pace.

Our setting aims to

  • Provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age.
  • Work in partnership with parents and carers to help children to learn and develop.
  • Be a presence and power for good within the local community
  • Promote equality and diversity within the preschool environment and wider community.

We aim to ensure that each child:

  • Is given a safe, supportive and stimulating environment to learn in.
  • Is given lots of individual support and attention from their named keyworker.
  • Has the chance to develop social skills with their peers and supportive adults.
  • Is offered learning opportunities that link to their personal interests and learning styles.

The staff team is made up of Level 2 and Level 3 practitioners. All staff contribute to and received CPD alongside school staff and as a smaller tearm to keep up to date with new ideas, developments and training. The Little Acorns team are currently developing the room environment to create a

home-from-home rather than a classroom feelm in line with the Curiosity Approach. We nurture our Little Acorns and aim to inspire a love of learning using develpmentally appropriate meathods.
