For further information please call the main school on 01425472338 or email adminoffice@poulner-inf.hants.sch.uk

Hello and welcome to the Pre-School page.

Our pre-school is located in the grounds of Poulner Infant School and by being part of the school we are able to use the school facilities, such as the hall, field, library and are able to take part in school events and special days.

We moved into our purpose build pre school in November 2024 and are enjoying being in our wonderful new learning environment.

We cater for up to 26 children per session and can take children from 2 years to 5 years. We offer a morning session and an afternoon session with the option of staying for lunch if required. A cooked lunch is available to order daily at an additional charge.

We provide a stimulating and caring environment where each child is supported as an individual to learn and develop at their own pace.

Our setting aims to

  • Provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age.
  • Work in partnership with parents and carers to help children to learn and develop.
  • Be a presence and power for good within the local community
  • Promote equality and diversity within the preschool environment and wider community.

We aim to ensure that each child:

  • Is given a safe, supportive and stimulating environment to learn in.
  • Is given lots of individual support and attention from their named keyworker.
  • Has the chance to develop social skills with their peers and supportive adults.
  • Is offered learning opportunities that link to their personal interests and learning styles.

Staff.

Our pre-school 'Little Acorns' is overseen by the school Head Teacher Mrs Jo Conner.

Little Acrons is led by Lead Early Year Teacher, Mrs Jess Moses. Jess has extensive experience in Early Years and holds a Masters Degree in Education, specialising in learning through play in the Early Year. She is also a trained Therapeutic Play Practitioner.

Mrs Alex Peters is the Little Acorns Supervisor. She has a wealth of experience in Early Years practice; she trained as a Norland Nanny and has a degree focused on supporting children with Special Needs.

The staff team is made up of Level 2 and Level 3 practitioners. All staff contribute to and receive CPD alongside school staff and as a smaller team to keep up to date with new ideas, developments and training. The Little Acorns team have developed the room environment to create a

home-from-home rather than a classroom feel in line with the Curiosity Approach. We nurture our Little Acorns and aim to inspire a love of learning using developmentally appropriate methods.
